A Message from the District Chair

Welcome to the Ninth District Democratic Party! It is my honor to serve as your Democratic Party District Chair.

Being a part of the Democratic Party means believing in what Hoosiers can accomplish with quality education, a good-paying job, and stronger communities. It means thinking about the long term for our community and making responsible decisions. Democrats believe that we're greater together than we are on our own. Our community thrives when everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules. Our goal is to lift up all Hoosiers, not just those at the top.

Our party continues to grow and we welcome those who are willing to make a difference in their community. We're not a coffee clutch or a club- we're a working committee composed of party officers from each of our District's counties. Our diverse members are dedicated to cultivate, recruit, support and elect Democrats in our county and region.

If you are looking for ACTION and CHANGE, we are the conduit for YOU. I encourage you to attend a meeting or an event, volunteer or just stay informed via our social media accounts and e-mailing list. We need advocates within all levels of interest and action.

‘Nothing ventured, nothing gained’

"Democrats believe that we're greater together than we are on our own. We know that families and individuals thrive when everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules."

Our party is focused on building communities that lift up all Hoosiers, not just those at the top.

After years of Republican dominance and leadership, Indiana sits at the bottom on nearly every major quality of life measure including health, education, and average family income. And in 2014, Indiana had the worst voter turnout in the country for the midterm elections. We believe that effective governance is a reasonable expectation of citizens and an engaged community is a strong community. We are committed to making sure every Hoosier voice is heard, and every vote is counted.

Being a part of the Ninth Congressional District Democratic Party means believing in what Hoosiers can accomplish with quality education, a good-paying job, and stronger communities. It means thinking about the long term for our communities and state, and making responsible decisions.
